Sidney Heyward Rex

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Sidney first started working part time at W.B. Guimarin in high school, which she continued to do on breaks when she was home from the University of Virginia. After graduation in 2003, she joined WBG full time as an estimator. She transitioned into a role as Project Manager while also attending the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, finishing her MBA in 2008. She moved over to the finance team as the Controller in 2015, and took over as CFO in 2017.

With her brother, they purchased the business from their father in October of 2016. They are the 4th generation of the Heyward family to lead W.B. Guimarin & Co.

She has served on the boards of Carolinas AGC, the CAGC Foundation, Sistercare, the Contemporaries of the Columbia Museum of Art, the Columbia Museum of Art, and Transitions. She is a fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and a Liberty Fellow.
