C. Carroll Heyward, Jr.

President, Chief Executive Officer

First starting out with the family business in the summer months, Carroll Heyward Jr. started out learning the business from the ground floor by lending a helping hand in the warehouse at the Columbia office.  Planning to become the next generation overseeing the progression of W.B. Guimarin & Co., Carroll sought further learning in the construction field, pursuing his undergraduate degree in Construction Studies at the University of Florida.

Upon graduating in 2008, Carroll started his career progression with WBG through roles in Project Estimation, Proactive Maintenance Sales, Assistant Project Management, and Project Management. During this time, Carroll also received a Master’s in Construction Science Management from Clemson University in 2011.

In October of 2016, Carroll and his sister purchased W.B. Guimarin & Co., making them the 4th generation Heyward’s to own and operate the business.

Serving as W.B. Guimarin’s CEO & President, Carroll strives for WBG to always be the contractor of choice for all construction and service related needs in the mechanical space. Along with serving as the company’s CEO, he also continues to provide his skillset and knowledge in the office and out in the field as a sales representative, project manager, mentor, and friend to our customers throughout South Carolina.

Carroll is currently the Board Chair of Historic Columbia, where he has been a director since 2020, prior to which he served as a director of the Palladium Society. He has also been involved with MCASC Midlands Area both as a member and acting president, and is a current member of YPO.
