South Carolina State Museum
January 19, 2015
This 70,000 sf renovation and addition project included a new cafeteria and state of the art planetarium at the State Museum’s landmark location where the Broad and Saluda rivers converge to form the Congaree in Columbia, South Carolina. This expansion project included not only new mechanical systems for the additional structure, but also mechanical upgrades in the existing historic mill building. Work on the existing mechanical systems had to be done while the museum was in operation; W. B. Guimarin has vast experience in working in both operating facilities and historic facilities, and the project was executed with success, accomplishing both our company and the customer’s goals. Visit the State Museum website for more information.
For our work on the project, we were awarded a 2014 Excellence in Construction Merit Award by ABC Carolinas.
