Hand Middle School
October 13, 2014
Hand Middle School was a 90,000 sf historical building constructed in the 1930’s that needed a complete overhaul. But the challenge was replacing the existing mechanical systems while the building was occupied—the building was renovated in phases, and because they were on a closed-loop system, each area had to be isolated so that heating and cooling operations would continue in other areas during all times. The job also included 15,000 sf of new construction.
