The Challenge
Marion County Schools were in need to update their HVAC systems amongst multiple campuses with working within the short construction window of their academic calendar. Each school building had a different scope of work from rooftop replacements, Bard unit upgrades, and unit relocations within the school building. Completing these projects across different school years while also ensuring each school was operational before the students returned required a mechanical contractor with the prior work history to deliver on schedule, without hindering the quality of the project(s).
The Solution
Through WBG’s strategic partnership with Trane, our Design/Build Team completed the needed mechanical improvements across 3 Marion County Schools between 2022 & 2024. Our team had coordinated the equipment, labor, and installation to keep with the tight timelines given.
- Marion High School: Replaced aged rooftop HVAC systems.
- Marion Intermediate School: Replaced existing Bard HVAC units converting the units from being located on the interior to being mounted on the exterior to help with them being easily serviced.
- Johnakin Middle School: Replaced both the rooftop HVAC systems and Bard HVAC units throughout the school.
WBG’s partnership with Trane, along with our team members, allowed us to complete each project all within the school district’s break schedule. These coordinated HVAC upgrades will continue to support the students, teachers, and administration alike to ensure long term comfort within their school.
