We are proud to be partnering with Utt Construction on a critical HVAC project for BD manufacturing site located in Sumter, South Carolina.

WBG’s team is leveraging the facility’s existing mechanical systems while upgrading outdated components, including the replacement of current coils to provide the needed cooling capacity necessary to improve the climate control for the space.

In enhancing the air quality and circulation, we are also installing entirely new return ductwork and outfitting the supply duct with HEPA rated HVAC grills. These upgrades are needed to meet strict environmental and filtration standards critical to BD’s medical device manufacturing, ensuring the environment remains both efficient and free of potential contaminants.

In addition to HVAC improvements, WBG’s team is also supplying & installing aluminum compressed air piping and high pressure fog humidification system throughout the space to support ongoing and future manufacturing processes. This integration is key to improving operational flow and system reliability across the production floor.

Lastly, Phase 2 will include new dedicated central energy plant expansion with a 200-ton chiller, redundant pumps and 200 horsepower air compressor. This added layer of cooling capacity & air quality control will help maintain a cleaner and more controlled environment supporting BD’s high strict standards within the manufacturing realm.
