Safety is constantly in focus at W. B. Guimarin & Company. At all levels of the company, we hold weekly safety meetings — from Toolbox Talks with field personnel, to safety progress overviews with the management team, we are all focused on creating a safe working environment.
Our award-winning safety program has been recognized by Carolinas AGC, ABC Carolinas, and the SC Chamber of Commerce, and we have twice in the past 10 years achieved over 1 million man hours without a Lost Time Accident.
In addition to continually monitoring our safety, we also seek ways to continually improve our processes. A safety committee comprised of field tradesmen, foremen, service technicians, management, and ownership meets on a monthly basis to review safety practices and seek new ways to create a safer work environment and workforce.
Some of our current safety practices:
- Trade Foremen have OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- Field Personnel have OSHA 10-Hour Certification
- Trade Foremen and Sheet Metal Shop Personnel have First Aid training and are CPR Certified
- New hire Safety Orientation
- New hire Fit for Duty tests
- Safe Driver’s Incentive Program
Our team follows the WBG Safety Handbook as standard operating procedure, and develops site specific safety plans to customize our program to meet any project that has specific needs. Our full time, dedicated Safety Officer is always available to make site visits and consult with personnel on any task specific questions that may arise.
