Construction Suicide Prevention Week 2025

In the construction world, safety has always been a top priority. Wearing hard hats, fall protection harnesses, and follow strict OSHA protocols to protect one another on the job site. But there’s another safety challenge that doesn’t always get the same attention…you and your teams mental health.

Construction workers face one of the highest suicide rates of any profession in the U.S. Long hours, physical demands, tight deadlines, and the culture of “being tough” all can play a role. These pressures leave workers feeling isolated or unsure where to turn for help.

That’s why Construction Suicide Prevention Week, September 8–12, 2025, is so important.

Resources That Can Make A Difference

The Construction Suicide Prevention initiative provides tools that all companies are able to use each and every day…and not just a singular week in September.

  • Toolbox Talks for teams to have real conversations about mental health.

  • Webinars designed to bring workers together and focus on ones overall mental health.

What We Can Do…

Every company, supervisor, and coworker has the power to make a difference to recognize notable signs and reach out when necessary.

  • Include mental health in your regularly scheduled safety talks.

  • Be able to learn and recognize the warning signs and connect workers with help, like the 988 Suicide &  the Crisis Lifeline.

  • Create a work culture where checking in on each other is normal and encouraged and not an oddity.

WBG’s Commitment

At WBG, safety is more than a requirement, it’s part of who we are. That means looking out for one another not only physically, but mentally as well. Supporting Construction Suicide Prevention Week is one way we’re reinforcing that commitment. Keeping mental health in the conversation, WBG is continuing to build a stronger, healthier community across our team.
