W.B. Guimarin & Co. is proud to announce that Brian Livingston has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, earning his designation as an Engineer in Training (EIT), a first in many milestones Brian will sure to have in his career, as well as starting his path toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, the FE exam is a comprehensive assessment that evaluates the core technical knowledge required of entry level engineers.

Since joining WBG in June, Brian has developed a strong foundation in both field operations and preconstruction. Beginning his career on the Roper St. Francis medical office building project, he worked alongside WBG’s field teams to gain hands on experience in commercial plumbing, piping systems, sheet metal fabrication, and HVAC/mechanical installation. This real world exposure has been complemented by time in the estimating department, where he has contributed to project takeoffs and cost analysis..

“I really enjoy the company dynamic of how we function in the field and office,” Brian shared. “During my time, I’ve learned a lot in estimating with project takeoffs, along with being in the field seeing projects come together. You can’t fully manage the type of work WBG takes on without understanding it from all sides.” -Brian Livingston-

With his FE exam complete, Brian now enters the next phase of his engineering career. Over the next four years, he will continue to build practical experience under the mentorship of WBG’s licensed Professional Engineers, gaining the technical expertise and project insight required to sit for the PE exam.
